These have been long days for me personally due to leaving work early just to go back to work but more in a learning environment. Even though I will be observing other events at other schools, I still wish to meet some more people within Columbus City Schools. There’re a lot of important people within this organization with different business sectors and would love to get in front of them to learn more about their story. Outside of that, today was interesting because there might be a chance that Northland and some other schools might not be able to fulfill the requirements of having a baseball team. I don’t get to see things how they are supposed to go but I never seen anything like that. There is a chance that Northland won’t have enough eligible players to have a competitive baseball team. If a team doesn’t have enough players to fill a lineup, then they will be ineligible to compete in any game. Once again due to Covid restrictions, the City-League is late to the party when it comes to try outs, workouts, or any conditioning compared to other schools. They will have a limited season and not a lot of time to enhance the skills of the players currently participating. I wish there was a way to extend their season. A varsity team can play up to 32 games maximum, and there is a possibility that all City-League participants will probably only play half that. I’m taking the time to learn bylaws for each spring sport in order to make sure I am making sure all teams are following the legal rules to participation. A lot of information to learn but I’m willing to do it to increase my opportunity within Columbus City.
