The Last Run 4/16/2021 (8hrs)

Today with Columbus City schools, I started with your typical office day before I had to head to Whitehall for another track meet. AS time is coming to an end with this, I’m very appreciative but I wish there was more I could’ve done or been involved with. For example, something with Park and Recs or Columbus Sports commission would’ve been great on top of everything that I already did. I’m blessed for this opportunity to continue to meet and network with people in the organization and outside the organization. It was much of a down period once I came into the office. I assisted the track team to make sure they had everything they needed to put on a performance at the track event later today. After following sanitation protocols at the schools, we had to head to Whitehall. Gas reimbursement sounds amazing right now for all these miles I out on my car but that’s the least of my worries. It was nice to see the new field with small upgrades to their actual track. This stadium is a good size stadium and can hold a lot of people, which they did successfully with this track meet. All their staff was well trained and respectful to us and other spectators. I should’ve asked Mario how much a typical high school makes from a track meet. Like is it a set price, or is it based on earnings and other sponsors that are involved with that school’s athletic program. From my experience this year I have seen 10 plus teams at every track meet. We haven’t even added parking, admission, and concessions. That’s something I would like to find out. Hopefully I can create an indoor facility with a regulation track to tap into the track industry. There’re are minor differences between programs and similarities. I’ve seen that these schools want a safe and time effective track meets. For this one, I even got to witness a big man race. As a big guy myself, I appreciate stuff like that. One last week of this internship and in class, graduation is getting close!
