Two office days in a row. That rarely happens but I will take it. It’s hard work trying to juggle this mentorship and work at the same time. I know I have seven weeks left in my program, and I can’t wait to see the finish line. I’m getting more tired and excited at the same time. Another quiet day in the office. Today we decided to go over some bylaws and sports regulations from the OHSAA handbook itself. I never seen this handbook, so it was pretty interesting. We went through all sports that high schools can offer. It’s a lot of information for each sport. Personally, I hoped that he didn’t think I was going to remember any of these policies or bylaws because I knew I wasn’t. It was good to read and study while he completed other tasks for spring sports. It’s a real slow period right now for Columbus City until springs sports starts to take off. And then we can work on winter sports to prepare for the football season for all respected schools. So far, I have learned a lot in this experience, and I wouldn’t trade the time in at all. Getting back in sports permanently is the goal and this will help me specifically with this experience. Not all schools in Columbus City offer every single sport. But understanding the constitutes of each sport will only help with knowledge. I was very impressed with Mario and his knowledge of sports that are not even offered in Columbus City such as lacrosse, and swimming. It just goes to show you that he works hard at his craft and knowledge of all sports, besides the ones that are offered at Northland High School.
