I was able to come in a little early on this day and this is my first official office day. One of the perks with working from home is that I was able to be flexible to come in earlier on this specific day. Columbus City Schools has a portal for all their student athletes called final forms. I knew what they were, but I didn’t know the whole story to the Final Forms. Parents have to make accounts for their kids with all updated information such as name, address, age, gender, school, etc. Also, these final forms have accounted for all medical history for all students. If there are any questions or information that needs to be searched, you can find it all on these final forms. I like this system because it’s easier and more accessible for any person that needs it. Mario loves how final forms are done online. It’s easier to keep up with information. I remember back in the day that we had to have emergency contact form, which could be easily misplaced. Every student athlete must turn in their final forms or they won’t be eligible to participate in their sport of choice. He gave an actual copy of the final forms to look at. Also, we went over just one part of eligibility waivers. In Columbus City Schools, you are allowed up to two different eligibility waivers. Student athletes can’t use them back-to-back years. In order to be eligible to use the second one you must have the GPA requirement of 2.0 in a quarter before they decide to use it again. Even though grades are important, this gives them an opportunity to compete without having the desired grades. Mario allowed me to be the active AD for tonight’s game against Beechcroft. Made sure all Covid protocols were upheld and made sure the opposing team had everything they needed while also verifying media personnel that were allowed to attend the game. It was a huge game in the Columbus City League, and a lot of media was invited to spectate the game. Executed post game cleanups and sanitation protocols in the areas of both teams and spectators.
