Today I performed as the active AD for the Columbus City School contest. I was a little nervous in the beginning, but I am starting to find my footing with being the active leader of athletics. The more repetitions you get, the better you will get and the more you will learn. So far, I haven’t faced any conflicts with coaches, student athletes, or referees. Also, we haven’t had any Covid issues as well on our side of Columbus City. The only team in Columbus City that dealt with Covid issues was the Afrocentric Boys basketball program. With the issues they faced, unfortunately they can’t compete in the City League Championship, and the OHSAA playoffs. Communication with all parties involved has been very easy and understandable to the point that I don’t have to go the extra mile to accomplish any outside goals. Still had to perform all sanitation efforts for all areas of use. Still made sure that all collective personnel that weren’t participating in the contest had their masks on and practicing social distancing. Another successful contest in the books, which closed out the season for all Columbus City Schools competition, and now we must prepare for the playoffs for all City league participants.
