Today with Columbus City Schools, I was able to visit the office for a little bit to see Mario and other staff members that I met throughout this journey. Today I was able to go visit another softball field to observe a team that I haven’t had a chance to observe, Columbus International. I used to drive by their school all the time, and I actually played a game on their football field in high school against Bishop Watterson. I don’t think they have a football team, but it was interesting to see their facility again. Once again, this was a day of observing for me before I get my opportunity to be lead Athletic Director for Mario for a home softball game. Just like other games that I observed at other stadiums, this has a bunch of similarities. Columbus City has been very strict on Covid protocols for each sport. Doesn’t matter if it’s an out of conference opponent or an opponent inside Columbus City, they expect the same preparation and the same results. Player and spectator safety is high priority in order for any and all events to be deemed successful. Umpires, coaches, and spectators still must have their masks on, and its optional for the players while they are in the field of play. It might not seem much to the outside view, but these are quality visits for me, and I take each of these opportunities very serious. I always thank Mario for an opportunity like this.
