Today with Columbus City Schools, I went to the office for a brief stay to try to observe Mario put in the financial reports from the track meet on Saturday. From what it looks like we made a decent amount of money from the event. More money than any other event that we been too lately. Today, I decided to go to the Softball game that took place at Centennial High School. Personally, I wanted to see if everybody had the same process pre-game and pot-game, similar to what I was doing during basketball season. It’s a decent drive from where Northland is located but I didn’t mind showing up and observing. Columbus City has lightened up and has allowed spectators for these events, and their minimal spectators. Everything that I’ve observed was very similar to the softball event that took place at Northland. I do like the fact they play multiple games a week because I can physically go to these games and observe other Athletic Directors and their processes. All sports have different processes, and not being around all sports during my lifetime, it amazes me how much goes into each sport, and not their “best” sport. This game went as expected, very sloppy and not organized enough. These athletes had very minimal practice or off-season workouts due to Covid restrictions through Columbus City. All sports through Columbus City are behind in their development process due to those protocols. Glad the city is being safe, but in the process, it has hurt the developments of these athletes.
